The inReach Messenger satellite communication system is a flexible package with the Garmin Messenger application that enables two-way messaging (sending and receiving messages) in a compact, rugged device via a satellite subscription to the worldwide Iridium network.
- Uses the cellular connection of your smartphone when it’s available, then it switches to the Global Iridium Satellite Network when you go beyond available cellular coverage range (synchronization of your contacts)
- Interactive SOS alerts and location sharing (satellite subscription required)
- Safety charging: connect the inReach Messenger to your phone for enough safety charge to send a custom text message
- Extra-long battery life, up to 28 days in 10-minute tracking mode
- Check-in messages: these check-in messages do not count toward the allotted text messages of your active satellite subscription
